Part-Time Coordinator Position
15–25 hours/week, Flexible, Northern Michigan (remote with occasional in-person)
The Northern Michigan Mountain Biking Association (NMMBA) is a grassroots nonprofit
dedicated to building and caring for great trails through strong local chapters and engaged
volunteers. NMMBA is seeking a Part-Time Coordinator to support our volunteer-led trail
development, stewardship and mountain biking community across Northern Michigan. This
role provides essential administrative, communications, and coordination support to our board,
chapters, and volunteers. The Coordinator helps keep our organization’s systems and
processes running smoothly so volunteers can focus on building and maintaining trails and
community relationships.
What You’ll Do
• Maintain membership, volunteer, and organizational records
• Track projects, documents, and organizational tasks
• Assist with board and committee administration including project fundraising
• Coordinate and manage event logistics
• Traverse City Trail Festival Race Director
• Coordinate communications (newsletter, email, social media, updates)
• Nurture and maintain community partner relationships (Eg; MIDNR,
TART, Grand Traverse County, etc)
• Support chapters and volunteer leaders with logistics and coordination
What We’re Looking For
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and stay organized across projects
• Comfortable working with volunteers in various settings/locations
• Proficiency with common digital tools (Google Workspace, email platforms,
spreadsheets, websites)
• Alignment with NMMBA’s mission and volunteer culture
Bonus: nonprofit, outdoor recreation/mountain biking, and/or community organizing experience.
Role Details
• Part-time: 15–25 hours/week (flexible scheduling)
• Remote within Grand Traverse region
• Occasional evening meetings or events
• Reports to NMMBA Board leadership
• Must pass background check

support the continued stability and growth of Northern Michigan’s trail network and outdoor
recreation community.
