Coach with Norte Youth Cycling This Spring!
Norte Youth Cycling is rolling into its 10th year of getting more kids moving with a full slate of afterschool and summer camp programs. Since its inception, Norte has been built on the premise that investing in happy, healthy, and active kids makes for a stronger community. Coaches have made these programs possible, serving as role models, cheerleaders, and snack carriers - and you’re definitely going to want to bring snacks.
Coaching with Norte isn’t about speed or training. It’s about keeping your team engaged, motivated, and safe. Northern Michigan Mountain Bike Association members are uniquely positioned to help get kids on bikes and explore the trails. Bring your love of the outdoors and passion for bikes to the Spring session, which kicks off in April and runs for six weeks.
Spring Session Details
With trailheads in Traverse City’s east, west, and central areas, there’s a good chance a Norte team is practicing in your neck of the woods. Head coaches (18 years or older) get a neat $20 an hour and plan sessions to keep everyone involved. Assistant coaches can be as young as 14 years old and just need to show up and help out!
Check out all the spring session trailheads and start times.
Norte Needs Good People
You don’t need to be a speedy bike racer or a trail guru to be an excellent coach. Norte needs adults who can keep track of kids, explore, and have fun. Look at cool bugs. Stop and chat about the day. It’s not about training the next Nino Schurter as much as it is about showing kids what they can really do.
